Receivership

For many years, Saltzburg, Ray & Bergman has represented receivers in challenging and complex cases. One of our founding partners, David Ray (recently deceased) began the first Receivership Forum to teach other “would be” receivers how to take over, operate and effectively control receivership entities. Over the past thirty years our attorneys have learned from Mr. Ray’s wisdom and dynamic approach to receivership organization and control such that his legacy continues. We have handled literally tens of hundreds of receiverships in a multitude of fascinating and diverse industries and situations. We have run dozens of investor properties including, office buildings, industrial centers, motels and hotels and shopping malls as well as dozens of struggling businesses. We have acted as the general contractor on uncompleted developments of buildings and commercial centers and have acquired entitlements and disposed of thousands of acres of raw land. Over the years we have investigated, recovered and returned millions of dollars of investor monies wrongfully taken through investor frauds and Ponzi schemes. We have also liquidated businesses in conjunction with partnership disputes, including myriad professional practices. Representative samplings of the fields in which we have been involved and continue to be involved are:

  • Investor fraud
  • Ponzi scheme
  • Fraudulent transfers
  • Enforcement of judgments
  • Partnership disputes
  • Partition actions
  • Provisional directors
  • Liquidations, including professional practices
